SPRINT BATTLE FORMAT
Sprint Battle is a new formation and structure to sprinting that's designed to be entertaining and invigorating. It's a competition that can be offered as a stand-alone event or a sprint league.
The goal of Sprint Battle is to provide an exciting and entertaining experience for both the athletes and the audience. It's designed to take sprinting to new heights and push athletes to become the best versions of themselves.Â
Sprint Battle is more about entertainment than athletic presentation. It's designed to capture the anticipation and excitement of sprinting at its greatest heights for audience entertainment.
You can participate in Sprint Battle as an individual or as a team. The competition can be structured as a league, a one-day event lasting 3 hours or a tournament lasting weekend.Â
Sprint Battle is designed to be a form of competitive athletic sprinting that entertains large audiences. We aim to create an exciting experience like the WWE, but with a focus on explosive and talented athletic sprinters.
Sprint Battle prioritizes entertainment first and athletics second, providing a distinct marketing focus and approach to the sport.
The opportunity for athletes to compete under their own alias or profile name adds a unique twist to the sprint industry, allowing for a more personalized and engaging experience.
Our goal is to create an electrifying experience that's engaging from start to finish. We want to keep the audience and athletes pumped up and entertained throughout the entire event, with non-stop action and excitement.
A team consists of 8 athletes, with 6 participating in the competition and 2 alternates in case of injury. Each participant will be responsible for racing in one of the six sprint heats.Â
AthleteS
Absolutely! While Sprint Battle introduces different elements to test a sprinter's skills, athletic ability is crucial to succeed. Athletes need to believe they have what it takes to win, and training and preparation are key to gaining a competitive edge.
Each sprinter will have a branded profile name, also known as an alias. Examples include names like Blaze, Lightning, Steady Foot, or Goddess of Speed. Alternatively, athletes can compete under a corporate, city, or school name, such as Nike or Hope Primary School.Â
THE TRACK
The Sprint Battle track is an oval-shaped, two-lane track that's created using two 70m sprint track lanes. This setup allows two athletes to compete against each other for 90 meters to the finish line.
The track's design incorporates corners and straightaways that make up the 90-meter distance. Athletes will sprint 20 meters, navigate a 15-meter corner, sprint another 20 meters, navigate another 15-meter corner, and then sprint a final 20 meters to the finish line.Â
Athletes need to be able to balance speed and control to navigate the corners safely and efficiently. They'll need to reduce their speed to stay in their lanes while taking the corners and then quickly increase their speed on the straightaways.Â
Competition
We'll create various themes to engage our audience and competitors, such as all-school competitions, avatar tours, night competitions, or age-appropriate competitions. These themes will add an extra layer of excitement and challenge to the events.Â
Sprint Battle introduces different elements to test a sprinter's skills and push them to become a champion. These elements might include unique track setups, obstacles, or challenges that require strategy and skill to overcome.
The layout and rotation of the competition will be explained in detail, but essentially, athletes will compete against each other in head-to-head matchups, with the winner advancing to the next round or being crowned the champion.Â
Music will play a significant role in keeping the competition entertained, active, and excited. We'll use music to energize the crowd and athletes during intermission rounds, creating a highly charged atmosphere throughout the 3-hour event
Our commentators will provide play-by-play commentary, including scripted introductory messages for each athlete. This will help build anticipation and excitement for each matchup, adding to the overall entertainment value of the event.Â
Alias / Profile Name
Using a profile name separate from your own allows you to market to a specific audience and attract followers. This can lead to increased popularity and financial benefits, as the more followers you have, the more money you can request from the Sprint Battle organization.Â
Competing under a brand name or ultra-ego can provide several benefits, including the ability to build and market a brand profile that fits people's perception of you. This can lead to increased recognition, fan support, and financial opportunities.Â
By building a strong brand profile, athletes can create a persona that resonates with their target audience. This can help them attract and retain followers, increase their marketability, and ultimately benefit financially from their participation in Sprint Battle events.Â
Rules and Regulations
In Sprint Battle, the inside lane has the biggest advantage. The choice of inside lane is determined by a random draw, and all athletes will have the opportunity to receive the advantage of the inside lane in each round.Â
Athletes will sprint twice in each round, and their average time will determine the winner.
The winner is determined by calculating the average time of the two sprints in each round. The athlete with the best average time wins the race and advances to the next round.Â
If an athlete starts before the sound, it's considered a "Fault Start." A second sound will be dispersed to stop the athlete, and a 2-second penalty will be applied to their sprint time. If the athlete with the inside track advantage defaults, they will lose their advantage to the outside track athlete.Â
Each heat round consists of two 90m sprints, for a total of 180m. As athletes advance to the next round, the total sprint distance increases. In the finals, athletes will sprint a total of 540 meters.Â
